Astrobay – The All Weather Sports Facility — www.astrobay.ie

Astrobay offers three state of the art 3G Floodlit AstroTurf Pitches and 50 metre Hurling Wall, which are available to rent to everyone by the hour. Astrobay all weather sports facility, is located in the grounds of Liam Mellows GAA Club, Ballyloughane, Renmore. The facility consists of three astro turf pitches each measuring 35m x 25m suitable for 5 or 6 a side games. Two of the pitches can be opened up into a larger playing area measuring 50m x 35m, suitable for team training or 7 to 10 a side games. The larger playing area also includes a 4m high x 50m wide hurling wall or ball wall. The wall is ideal for hurling coaching and other rebound based sports coaching. Shower and changing facilities are available on site for the casual and team orientated user. At Astrobay they will endeavour to incorporate as many sports as are deemed appropriate to the facility.

Astro Leagues currently run a two 7-A-Side Leagues at the Facility, we also run a very successful 5-A-Side league every Summer at the Venue

The facility is open to the general public 7 days a week until 10pm, with fantastic daily rates available. Oranmore Astro Turf Pitches

The Oranmore Community Development Association runs three Floodlit AstroTurf Pitches

The development of the larger All Weather Pitch in the centre of the town was completed by the OCDA and the first match was played on St. Stephens day 2000. The dimensions of the pitch are 90 metres by 50 metres and the surface is very durable synthetic which means it can be played on in all types of weather. The pitch is used by youth and adult sports teams alike for a range of activities including soccer training and matches, GAA training, general fitness activities, etc.

Since then 2 more state of the art Floodlit AstroTurf Pitches have been added behind the Church. These are ideally suited for 5 or 6-A-Side games

Astro Leagues currently run a two 5-A-Side Leagues at the Oranmore Facility

Fees for use of the pitch are very reasonable and time slots can be organised through the Oranmore Community Development Association. Contact Ray Lavery details are below
